This project aims to improve the care and reintegration of at least 1,000 marginalized minors in Bangui (including children living in the street or incarcerated minors) and to build the capacity of at least 136 child protection actors in CAR (including civil society organisations, ministries, communities). This project is carried out in close collaboration with the local partner - La Fondation Void Du Coeur (FVDC), a long-standing partner of TGH.
The TGH teams work with children living in street in Bangui through outreach and recreational activities. In addition, TGH works to reintegrate these young people by reuniting them with their families if it’s possible or in foster homes with the support of the FVDC. This reintegration is monitored by literacy courses, schooling and vocational training. TGH and its partner provide individualized follow-up for each young person. In addition, TGH also works with young people incarcerated in the Ngarabga prison in Bangui. TGH carries out recreational and psycho-social activities, medical care and referrals, raises awareness, provides literacy courses and assists young people on their release from prison with a view to their successful social and professional reintegration.
