In recent years, violent confrontations in the Vakaga prefecture have led to major population movements and the establishment of various reception sites for displaced people.  TGH has been present in this area since 2007 and has a good expertise in the field of WASH since the early days of the emergency response in Birao.

This project is in line with the actions undertaken by TGH in the field of WASH in Birao. TGH is responding to the needs of the population while ensuring sustainable access to water through the installation of an innovative solar-powered system that will allow the displaced people to become autonomous in their access to water and in the management of sanitation structures, while contributing to reducing the carbon impact of their water point.

For the populations wishing to return to their localities, TGH is assisting them during their resettlement in the field of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation with the assistance of ACTED which intervenes in the field of Shelter and IGA (Income Generating Activities).
