The project targets thirty members and staff of five civil society organisations and 1,000 households. In total, 5,000 people will benefit from micro-projects.
Following on from previous projects, TGH aims to support Burmese civil society organisations in the context of a triple crisis. The COVID-19 crisis, the conflict and the subsequent economic crisis have increased the needs of the Burmese people. In this context, local CSOs are best placed to provide assistance that is rapid and relevant to identified needs, as they have better access to the field than international NGOs. Strengthening their management and implementation capacities is therefore an effective response to this situation.
Building the capacity of local CSOs has always been at the heart of TGH's commitment.
During the course of this project, strengthening the intervention capacities of local CSOs and their networking will, in the long term, enable them to better respond to the needs of civil society organisations and harmonise and share best practices among beneficiary Burmese CSOs, enabling them to operate autonomously. The project will support local CSOs in the direct implementation of a micro-project.
