TGH is implementing the activities related to educationwhile Intersos is implementing more protection-oriented activities.

TGH activities includes firstly the rehabilitation of 2 schools. Indeed, major rehabilitation needs were determined in the schools identified and targeted by the project. Each targeted school was significantly damaged by shrapnel and bullet strikes. Windows were smashed, exposing children to humidity and cold, becoming the cause of school dropouts and discouraging the reintegration of children who dropped out of school. Rehabilitation work includes repairing damaged walls, painting, installing doors and windows, minor electrical repairs, etc. These also include rehabilitation of latrines and installation of drinking water points in schools.

In parallel, TGH insures that hygiene practices are improved among children attending schools, through the organisation of hygiene promotion campaign sessions and the provision of hygiene items.

To complete the previous activities, TGH is also distributing recreational and educational materials, small equipment and school kits, provided by Intersos. It ensures that the children benefiting from the project have a dignified learning environment, adapted to their mental and physical well-being and personal development.

In addition to these activities, Intersos is identifying children who have dropped out of school through community mechanisms. Non-Formal Education sessions and psychosocial support is offered to out-of-school children, children at risk of dropping-out and regular pupils. Finally, Intersos is implementing case management and referral of identified cases to specialised services or support. The INGO is providing teachers training in EiE, Active Learning Program, Child Protection and psycho-social support.
