Responding to the growing needs of people affected by the conflict in Sudan

As part of the conflict in Sudan, clashes between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces escalated in El Fasher, North Darfur, since April last year.

These clashes intensified and continued for months. As a result, thousands of people have been displaced from El Fasher to other localities. Some of these IDPs were already displaced before the escalation and experienced secondary displacement.

According to IOM, a total of 410,376 people were displaced from El Fasher to other localities (mostly Jabbal Marrah) between May 2024 and October 2024.

To meet the needs of this population, TGH opened a new sub-base in Tawila, accessible from the TGH base in Golo, Jabbal Marrah, Central Darfur.

The TGH team began implementing WASH activities under ECHO funds, such as :

The opening of this new base and the implementation of these activities offer essential support to the populations heavily affected by this conflict, which has been going on for over a year.
