In July 2020, Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) launched phase I of an emergency project for the prevention and control of COVID-19-related infections in Eastern Ukraine, in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, with financial support from UNICEF and USAID/BHA. Phase II of this project ran from 1 March 2021 to 30 June 2021. Phase III was launched on 22 July 2021 for a period of six months, again with financial support from UNICEF.

This phase targets a very wide range of people and organisations :

  • 5,150 individuals
  • 211 health institutions
  • 130 social institutions
  • 77 educational institutions
  • 1,000 school-age children

Through these programmes, electronic vouchers redeemable for essential hygiene products are being distributed to 211 health institutions, 130 social institutions, 77 educational institutions and 1,500 vulnerable households in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. 1,000 electronic vouchers for the purchase of essential educational materials will also be distributed to the most vulnerable children attending school near the contact line.

TGH currently works with more than 44 partner shops involved in this distribution of electronic coupons for hygiene products.

TGH’s cooperation with partner shops ensures wider coverage and better access to humanitarian aid for beneficiaries. Thanks to the partnership with local shops, project beneficiaries living in the most remote locations can receive the aid they need via home delivery.
