Programme details
The project corresponds to the second phase of the action carried out by the UNHCR and TGH in 2022. Building on the achievements of the initial phase, the project aims to continue consolidating the peace process already underway.
For this new phase, TGH is continuing to work with the young people who took part in the project in 2022, to enable them to capitalise on their achievements, consolidate their skills and extend the results to all the communities concerned, as well as reaching other young women and men.
Young people have a key role to play in supporting the peace process. To do this, they need the right tools to get involved. TGH therefore relies on small-scale, youth-led peace-building and advocacy initiatives, placing young people’s empowerment and initiative-taking at the centre of the project.
Young people will be actively involved in developing and implementing capacity-building training, designing and disseminating digital content and messages related to peace (including combating hate speech and stereotypes), implementing micro-projects to strengthen community dialogue and participating in policy development within government structures.
In detail, the project involves the participation of :
- 400 young people (250 young men & 150 young women aged 18 to 35) from Um Duwain/Krinding, Gokar & Mulli (Geneina), Magmarei & Mornei (Kereneik);
- 10,240 people (5,240 young people, 3,000 children & 2,000 adults over 35).
