The project aims to build the resilience of young people (1,460 direct and 7,300 indirect) and communities at risk in Kirkuk, supported by local institutions and civil society, in order to prevent and counter violent extremism while promoting social cohesion through personal, social and economic reintegration efforts.
The project has three main components:
The first component aims to strengthen the civic values and life skills of young women and men at risk so that they can fulfil their potential and improve their resilience to violent extremism. The action will enable young people at risk to benefit from quality training and acquire skills that will enable them to increase their economic and social opportunities.
The second aspect aims to increase the participation and commitment of young people in their communities, using innovative methodologies to support their ideas and advocate for change, starting with their involvement in decision-making processes.
Finally, TGH will strengthen and develop local systems and structures designed to help young people overcome the difficulties they face and increase their economic and social opportunities.
