Emergency assistance in WASH, protection and shelter in West Darfur

Following the intercommunity clashes and massive population displacements that took place in 2021 and 2022 in West Darfur, TGH’s intervention is aimed at displaced persons, host communities and nomads in the localities of Sirba and Kereinik.

The project will help to improve the quality of and access to specialised child protection services by building child-friendly spaces offering psychosocial support sessions and social monitoring.

TGH will also provide vital assistance to displaced people, host communities and returnees in Sirba through a Water, Hygiene and Sanitation intervention, installing and rehabilitating hand pumps and monitoring water quality.

Finally, the project will improve access to adequate shelter and basic services by distributing 3,200 emergency shelters to people affected by the crisis in the town of Kereneik.
