Access to education in a safe and dignified environment requires the rehabilitation of schools and the improvement of formal and informal education services. Educational staff are specifically trained to work with children who have experienced the traumatic experience of war and have sometimes been out of school for several years. The provision of school and recreational equipment will contribute to improving learning environments, while non-formal education and psychosocial support activities at the community level will promote the well-being of schoolchildren and the reintegration of children who have dropped out of school.
For a comprehensive and multisectoral approach, the project includes hygiene promotion sessions in schools and the distribution of soap and lice shampoo (determined by the analysis of children's needs in targeted schools), so as to encourage good hygiene practices among schoolchildren, which are then disseminated within families.
These actions are carried out with the participation of the Syrian Red Crescent and in collaboration with the Syrian Ministry of Education.
