Operating in CAR since 2007, TGH is using its long-term experience in Bangui and in the child protection sector – the NGO has been working there since 2011 - to develop protection programmes adapted to the context. Through this project, TGH maintains its commitment to street children, who - in the absence of guidance and landmarks - must be protected because of their vulnerability to various threats, including HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, armed violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, and possible recruitment into armed groups. This programme offers emergency care supplemented by support for their social and educational reintegration. In order to guarantee the transfer of skills, enhance local contribution, ensure the sustainability of achievements and support the State's response to this issue, emergency care and support activities towards social and educational reintegration are developed in close collaboration with the Voix du Cœur Foundation (which has been TGH’s partner for 7 years now) and the services of the Ministry of Social Action.

The action has two outcomes:

• Outcome 1: An emergency protection system for juveniles is maintained in 2019, capable of identifying, monitoring and informing the rapid decision-making process for their care
• Outcome 2: The juveniles experiencing family breakdown are accompanied, receive quality protection and have access to services aimed at their social and school reintegration.
