The identification, diagnosis and follow-up of people with special needs in the camps is carried out by a variety of actors, supervised by 2 main entities: the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Promotion of Women. These various players provide a range of services (medical care, schooling, social support, etc.). The aim of this project, which has been running since 2023, is to break down systemic barriers and provide comprehensive support for people with disabilities and disorders.
In response to this challenge, the activities implemented by TGH are as follows:
- Building the skills of those involved in diagnosing and caring for children with special needs;
- Stress management training for educators, teachers and healthcare staff;
- Capacity-building for teachers to meet the socio-educational needs of special-needs pupils attending school;
- Organization of disability awareness campaigns;
- Reeting material needs identified by partner ministries.
