The action developed by TGH throughout this programme will target the entire fish and vegetable production chain, from their production on fish farms and cooperatives to their consumption by children in social institutions in Jongpyong and Hamju counties.

Improving the nutritional and food security level of children in the 36 institutions will focus on three outcomes:

• Develop and disseminate better agricultural practices and rehabilitate infrastructure that is adapted and resistant to natural disasters and shocks to ensure the availability of sufficient fry, fish, vegetables and slurry on the various intervention farms. The construction of greenhouses will help increase the duration of harvesting periods and improve organic matter management techniques for a better use of manure, and in turn a better fertilisation, but also a better sanitary environment.
  
  
• Increase food preservation periods: the logistical means currently available do not allow the various actors (farms, public distribution systems, institutions) to properly manage deliveries and stocks, which leads to significant losses in production. The installation of solar freezers will compensate for electricity deficiencies that may occur at any time, and the construction of storage warehouses will preserve vegetables longer. The choice of the most appropriate means of transport will be determined jointly with the counties' People's Committees in order to be sustainable and efficient.
  
  
• Capacity building on composting, hygiene and nutritional practices through training on waste management, composting techniques and information sharing. A study tour on waste management and composting will be organised with the appropriate stakeholders and in collaboration with the BoA (Bureau of Aquaculture) and the Academy of Agriculture and Science. This will allow the implementation of awareness campaigns and capacity building activities.

Special attention will be paid to hygiene, preservation and nutritional practices within the institutions themselves. Training and awareness sessions will be organised by TGH in collaboration with the People's Committees, the impact of which will be assessed throughout the project.
